This costal town is located on the top of a hill 1.5 km from the Costa Daruda. The town’s historic legacy and its naval traditions merge here to create a most charming and attractive atmosphere in the town.

Among the many monuments in Calafell, the medieval castle with its walled enclosure, the 11th century Romanesque church of Santa Creu, with remains of mural paintings in the apse, are worth a visit. The fishing district of La Platja or Marina de Calafell, is replete with tourist facilities like restaurants, hotels, apartments and housing developments.

A must see is the Iberian village of Les Toixoneres dating from the 5th to 2nd centuries BC. It has been converted into a virtual museum by renovating it to recreate the atmosphere of the civilization which inhabited the area 2,500 years ago. It is also known as the Iberian Citadel of Calafell, and attracts many holidaymakers. If its a beach holiday you want then this resort has 5km of fine, sandy beach, with clean sand and the water is shallow and warm. The resort is perfect for all age groups.
The resort has a good shopping centre and several outdoor markets on Tuesdays and Fridays. Along with the usual shopping, there are several typical Spanish shops where traditional and local items are available.
